
Oh man, Christmas – it’s the one day of the year that is all about being with your loved ones. We don’t only enjoy holiday traditions like decorating the tree and eating Christmas dinner together, but for many of us, we also enjoy bonding over watching football. The National Football League (NFL) plays some of its biggest games during the holidays, and among Christmas many joyous activities, I must ask, is there always NFL on Christmas?
The answer isn’t as cut and dry as you would think. In the last ten years, the league (NFL) has had both games and days off on Christmas. As a fan, these days can be incredibly frustrating because you don’t always know whether there are going to be games.
However, the past few seasons have had scheduled games on Christmas day, allowing fans to watch their favorite teams duke it out on the field. Just last year, we had four games slated on Christmas: Texans vs. Buccaneers, Bears vs. Saints, Chargers vs. Raiders, and Packers vs. Vikings.
It’s funny, when I think back to when I was a kid almost twenty years ago, I always remember that there was NFL on Christmas. However, my parents claim that some years they had no games. This year’s line up is sure to be just as exciting.
